Haven Seashore Review – Family Friendly UK Holiday in Norfolk

You would be forgiven for thinking that we went to foreign shores when you see the golden sandy beach with the golden sun glistening on the sea; in fact we went to the Haven site at Seashore.  Seashore is in Great Yarmouth; a popular coastal resort in Norfolk.  We really enjoyed our Holiday at Haven Seashore so I decided to write this Haven Seashore review.

Haven Seashore Review

What are the Caravans like at Haven Seashore?

We booked an upgraded caravan and were more than pleased with the one we were given!  I really recommend upgrading your caravan where possible.  We loved the Prestige and I think we would have been disappointed if we had booked a standard caravan as they seemed quite small and lacked outdoor space.  It was lovely to be able to sit out on the small caravan veranda and read a book in the sunshine with a cup of tea.

Haven have set a high standard at Seashore, both the caravan interior and the site were superb quality.  Everything was very clean and tidy.  We really loved the site.  The beach was lovely too. The quality of this holiday far exceeded my expectations and that is when I decided to write the Haven Seashore review.

The caravan came equipped with everything we needed; a microwave, toaster, huge fridge freezer, cutlery, crockery, glassware, bedding a TV & not one but two toilets!

What do I need to take to Haven Seashore?

There were a few necessities that we only really realised we needed once we had checked into our caravan:

  1. A Tea Towel for drying up
  2. Toilet Roll
  3. Washing Up Liquid
  4. A sponge for washing up

When you consider that, other than food, this was all we needed to buy the caravan was well stocked!  There was a lovely on site supermarket where we managed to get everything we needed and plenty more besides.

Haven Seashore Review – The Site

The Haven Seashore site was so modern & clean and had stunning surroundings.  We had glorious sunshine for a couple of days while we were there and we honestly felt like we were abroad!  The site was small enough to walk around easily and big enough to have everything we needed including a pub, swimming pool with small indoor water park,  indoor soft play area, indoor amusement arcade, crazy golf, park and adventure playground.

Haven Seashore Review – entertainment

The entertainment was great fun and the days varied.  There was a packed activity programme for kids including indoor messy play, puppet show & daily evening mini disco.  We worried what we would do with a toddler if the weather was bad during our week away, but having been to Haven Seashore, I wouldn’t worry about this in the future – there are lots of indoor activities and a packed activity programme to keep little ones busy.

What is in the local Norfolk area for families to explore?

We made the most of the local area during our trip.  We went to Great Yarmouth for all the traditional seaside fun crazy golf, donkey derby, ice creams, tea rooms and a ride by the sea on a horse and carriage.  We also visited some local attractions including the Sealife Centre, the miniature village & Africa Alive.  Since we visited, there has also been an outdoor splash park open in Gorleston which is a short drive away.

We had a brilliant holiday and will definitely return to Haven Seashore in the future!  If you are going to be travelling with a Baby then take a look at our comprehensive Baby Packing Checklist.

If you are looking to compare Haven to a different site in Norfolk then check out this review of Hemsby Beach Holiday Park by Actually Mummy. We have stayed at Richardsons at Hemsby ourselves and I really enjoyed reading Helen’s review. Helen stayed in a Platinum Lodge, when we stayed we had a gold bungalow and we thought it was very spacious and very modern although the walls were a little thin.
