Milton Cold Water Steriliser Review:
In the 40’s an outbreak of gastroenteritis caused the death of 4,500 babies. The outbreak was traced back to contaminated baby bottles. The government of the day tasked pharmaceutical company Milton with the task of finding a solution. All the years later Milton are still a well recognised and trusted name.
The Milton Cold Water Steriliser, when used correctly, is clinically proven to eliminate 99% of germs including bacteria, fungi and viruses.
The sterilising solutions stays fresh for 24 hours so it is able to be used throughout the day and night.
The Milton Cold Water Steriliser is very easy to use. It only takes 15 minutes to sterilise. It uses no electricity, which saves money on energy.
I found it really easy to fit sterilising into our routine with the Milton Cold Water Steriliser.
I use empty the sterlisier water in the evening at the same time daily. Wash it out with soap and water and dry it.
Then fill it with fresh water up to the line and add one Milton sterilisting tablet so it was ready to be used for night feeds and all the next day.
Due to allergies George stayed on formula until 18 months of age and I used the Milton Cold Water Steriliser from birth to 18 months daily.
It was always so handy to have a bucket of sterile water on the side all day as any dummies that fell onto the floor could just be popped in and ready to go again in just 15 minutes time.
Once George was teething i used it for any teethers that dropped.
We were advised by a paediatrician to begin weaning at 4 months due to severe reflux. I used the Milton Cold Water Steriliser to sterilise the sippy cups, bowls and spoons.
We found the Milton Cold Water Steriliser very handy as it was easily transportable if we were going on holiday. All we needed was to take the Milton Sterilising tablets with us and ensure we had a supply of fresh water.
How to use the Milton Cold Water Steriliser:
I found the Milton Cold Water Steriliser very easy to use. The Milton Cold Water Steriliser has a large 5 litre capacity that can hold up to 6 bottles at a time. It can be used to sterilise other items such as dummy’s, teething rings, plastic toys etc.
The Milton Cold Water Steriliser can be used for any bottle on the market. Steam sterilisers tend to only fit certain brands and make it really difficult if you need to change bottle brands.
To use the Milton Cold Water Steriliser:
• Wash then Sterilise your hands.
• Clean the kitchen sides with an antibacterial spray and a wet cloth.
• Wash bottles, teats and rings in hot soapy water then rinse in cold water.
• Fill the Milton Cold Water Steriliser to the 5litre line with cold water then either add 1 Milton Sterilising Tablet or 30 ml of Milton Sterilising Fluid.
• Place everything you want to steriliser into the steriliser.
• Fully submerge everything to release any air bubbles.
• Place the plunger inside to keep everything fully submerged.
• Pop on the lid and fold the handle back to secure.
There is no need to rinse items before use.
The items will all be ready to use in just 15 minutes and will stay sterile for up to 24 hours.
The solution will stay sterile for 24 hours so if you need to pop anything in during that time you can just submerge it and leave it for 15 minutes.
