Make Every Day Happy – 10th to 16th April

If you have read my Make Every Day Happy series before, welcome back. If you are new here, welcome! I use this space to share the highlights of my week. A moment of happiness from each day. I’d love to hear some of your highlights too.  I have also set up a new blog and moved my Make Every Day Happy posts over there at

Do remember though, this is literally my highlights reel – never compare your day to day life to someone else’s highlights.

Be grateful for what you have and take some time to appreciate the ordinary happy moments of the every day.

Lilys 7th Birthday! Second lockdown birthday for Lily. When we were planning her day we were disappointed that the next stage of lockdown easing was the Monday after Lilys birthday.

In hindsight, Lily had a lovely birthday and I wouldn’t have changed a thing. We made Lily an Afternoon Tea and my Mum managed to join us which was lovely (she is in our household bubble).

We bought Lily a Nintendo Switch, after a lot of advice from the lovely What The Redhead Said, we went for a full version so that we could have a wider choice of games and play it on the TV.

The rule of 6 meant that Lily could see family members on the day, though we did have to arrange time slots for everyone which is still a little odd!

Lily was thrilled with her Switch and we had also bought her a lot of spring and summer clothes too which she loved. Family members bought her lots of lovely presents too and she was thoroughly spoilt.

On Sunday we went to our first ever Farmers Market. It was at Forty Hall Estate so quite local to us. We wasn’t really too sure what to expect, but we actually really enjoyed it. We bought some Olive Oil, Olives, Ciabbatta Bread, Serrano Ham and Mike bought some seed/nut mix that he dipped Bread and Olive Oil into.

We had a lovely walk around the gardens and by the duck pond and even spotted some sheep and baby lambs (I know all lambs are babies but it’s just what I call them!). Let’s not mention the rat I saw and screamed my head off hey!

Mike and I both work from home and a benefit of that is that we both get to spend lunch together.

We had a tasty feast with our all farmers market purchases.

I received a lovely surprise in the post. I had attended a virtual conference for work a few weeks ago and received a goody box in the post today. It included a book that had been on my list to buy to read (bonus!), a little kitchen herb growing set which will be fab to do with the kids and some chocolates (which I gave to Mike as I am dairy free).

George was extra tired on Wednesday and I got lots of lovely sleepy cuddles at lunch.

Had a lovely bath once the children were asleep and then got in bed to read my book.

This week, overall we had a much better week of sleep than usual. I took full advantage and had another early night curled up in bed with my beautiful cushion the kids bought me last mothers day.

Hope you had a lovely week, come back next week to read more of my Happy adventures in this, my online gratitude diary space.

Happy Birthday to your daughter Lily, sounds like she had a great day and so lovely to be start to be able to see other people, let’s hope it continues. Great finds from the farmers market, hope you and your husband enjoyed your lunch. I’m trying to read more but can’t seem to get motivated with it at the moment.

The highlights reel is a good reminder – I often have to remind myself of that when looking through social media. Hope Lily had a nice birthday. I love her unicorn-themed afternoon tea. Looks like you and Mike had a lovely lunch with your farmer’s market purchases. Sleepy cuddles and time to read are both lovely and always good to get a better week sleep-wise! #project365

Happy birthday to Lily. The afternoon tea looks amazing. What a lucky girl. It sounds like she had a fab day.
Farmers markets are amazing. I tend not to go often as I can easily spend a small fortune. x

Sounds like Lily had a lovely birthday. My son has a Switch too and he loves it and the range of games available. They do offer free games and heavily discounted ones so always worth checking those out, I’m tight when it comes to spending money on games!! #365
